Meridian Water Polo Club
Club
Policies
Safety, respect, and standards that make excellence sustainable.
By joining Meridian Water Polo Club, every athlete, parent, and coach commits to a disciplined, safe, and supportive environment— on deck, in competition, and in our community.
Participation in Meridian Water Polo Club requires adherence to the Parent/Athlete Code of Conduct and all USA Water Polo Rules Governing Conduct and Safety Policies. Failure to comply with these policies or any Team-Level Behavior Contracts may result in removal from the club without reinstatement.
Athlete Safety
Our Commitment
Athlete safety and well-being are our top priorities. We uphold a disciplined approach so players train and compete in a secure, supportive environment. Our standards align with USA Water Polo's Safety Policies and the U.S. Center for SafeSport guidelines.
- Best Practices: Player protection, heat/hydration protocols, equipment checks.
- Injury Prevention: Technique-first coaching, workload management, return-to-play steps.
- Emergency Response: Clear roles, site-specific plans, and post-incident documentation.
Concussion Awareness
We emphasize concussion education for athletes, families, and coaches. If symptoms are suspected, the athlete is removed from play and follows an approved return-to-play protocol only with appropriate clearance.
- Recognize signs/symptoms; when in doubt, sit out.
- Notify coaches immediately; document the incident.
- Medical evaluation and stepwise return to activity.
Code of Conduct
All athletes, parents/guardians, and coaches are expected to uphold the highest standards of sportsmanship, respect, and integrity. By joining our club, members agree to the following:
